Hi, my name is Birubi. Everyone at Port Stephens Koala Hospital is thrilled to announce my birth, which is a significant milestone. I am the first koala to have been conceived and born at the hospital, and I’m just starting my explorations, going in and out of my mum’s pouch. You might know my mum, Midnight Rose, who has been a resident here for a few years now. The dedicated team at the hospital is overjoyed as my birth marks a significant achievement in our conservation efforts. My name, Birubi, is the Worimi word for the Southern Cross, which is very apt as I am just minutes from Birubi Beach.
